The page behind every "update your preferences" link, where contacts fix their details and choose their lists.

The preference page is where a contact manages what they get from you. They can fix their details and choose which lists they’re on. Every email footer links to it with update your preferences, and the unsubscribe page can offer it too.

Each link is personal to the contact, so they don’t need to log in.

Open it from Settings → Preference page.

The Preference page settings, with the editable details, the list toggles and the landing page field

Details they can fix picks which fields appear at the top of the page, above the lists:

  • Prefix, First name, Last name, Job title
  • Address line 1, Address line 2, City, State or region, Postcode
  • Date of birth

Leave it empty and the page only shows lists.

The email address is never editable. It’s how the CRM knows who the contact is. To change it, the contact has to ask you.

Every list is shown here with a switch:

  • On — the list appears on the preference page, and contacts can join or leave it there.
  • Off — the list stays private. Contacts never see it, and only you can add people to it.

The switch saves straight away — you don’t need Save changes. If you have more than eight lists, use Search lists… to find one.

If you have no lists yet, the section says No lists yet. and links to Contacts → Lists.

Where they land is the page a contact goes to after they save their preferences or unsubscribe. Enter a full address, like a thank-you page on your site. Leave it empty and they see a short message on the same page instead: Your preferences are saved or You have been unsubscribed.

On Opt-in & unsubscribe, When someone clicks Unsubscribe decides whether the unsubscribe page offers the preference page:

  • With Let them choose, the unsubscribe page links to Choose which emails you get instead, and the confirmation afterwards links to Choose what you hear about instead.
  • With Unsubscribe from everything, those links don’t appear.

The update your preferences link in the email footer works either way.

If the link in an email is no longer valid, the contact sees That link has expired and is asked to contact you for a new one.

Details they can fix and Where they land are saved with Save changes in the bar at the top. The list switches save as soon as you flip them.
